    Default KFC Mashed Potato Bowl

Is there anything more glorious? What is better than mashed taters, fried chicken, corn, cheese, and gravy all together? Bacon perhaps?

I don't like my food to touch on the plate even, so I'm fairly repulsed by this whole concept

I'm normally like this as well. Not only do I prefer my food not to touch, I eat a little bit of each item as to maintain "balance" on my plate at all times.

Patton Oswalt has a well known bit on the KFC bowl, he calls it a "failure pile in a sadness bowl" among other things. I LOVE the bit and I admit the bowls are pretty good..I don't eat at KFC for my health of course, but sometimes you just want a crappy bowl of salt, fat and empty fried goodness.

Was JUST going to suggest googling "Patton Oswalt" and "Bowl of sadness".

That being said - I love the bowl of sadness

I can't do it. I just can't. I like the components I guess (though not really from KFC) but I can't fathom them all together at once. BUT, I will say it's way more appetizing than the stomach bomb that was the KFC Double Down . DH ate that once. I tried one bite. Let's just say it's a good thing we have more than one bathroom.

I never actually ate the KFC version, shockingly, but make my own all the time, which my friends refer to as my Sadness Bowl after Patton Oswalt... I get a microwavable family size of frozen mashed potatoes, heat that up while heating up a can of corn and a jar of gravy mixed together, dump it all together in a big bowl with a stick of butter, mix it until the butter melts in, and then eat it. Usually I can split it into portions; sometimes I just eat it all at once.

Here's Patton Oswalt actually doing a Taste Test review of the KFC bowl on the AV Club: http://www.avclub.com/articles/av-cl...-howling,2130/

See, I didn't read this thread because I thought it was a football bowl game.

But I see that the football one is the "Famous Idaho Potato Bowl" and not the "KFC Mashed Potato Bowl." At least not this year.
