Please educate me on the sizing of (dressage) weymouth bits.
Trying to find a 5.5 inch low wide port to start a 7 year old in.
(He normally takes a 5.5 inch 3 ring "Pessoa" jumping bit with french link, we are transitioning and trying some dressage.)
I understand that once the weymouth size is identified, the bradoon should be 1/4" larger.
I love the HS bits but the price is way over my budget - I believe they only have one weymouth in their catalog that is sized 5.5 inches.
Again please educate me and recommend something if possible?
Yep, the three ring pessoa is essentially a loose ring, which should leave plenty of extra room on the sides to avoid pinching. So you'll go smaller in a curb. 5 1/4" weymouth and then stick with 5 1/2" for your bradoon.
