CEDAR LAKE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities said an Indiana man who had 47 guns and ammunition in his home has been arrested after allegedly threatening to kill people at an elementary school near his home.
Cedar Lake police were called to the home of 60-year-old Von I. Meyer early Friday after he allegedly threatened to set his wife on fire. A police statement says Meyer also said he would enter Jane Ball Elementary School and "kill as many people as he could."
Authorities found 47 guns and ammunition worth over $100,000.
Prosecutors filed felony intimidation charges against Meyer on Saturday, one day after the massacre at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. He is being held without bond.
Cedar Lake is about 45 miles southeast of Chicago.

Arm the teachers?
I'm trying to think, of all the teachers I worked with, how many could or would actually pull the trigger to kill someone. I'm not sure everyone could do that.
And better not arm the middle school teachers...I'm sure some of them have had impure thoughts of violence.
Tell me why those who want to 'kill lots of people' unfailingly go to schools...the mall.
Oh...you don't know?
It is because they are 'gun-free' and therefore the chances of being stopped BEFORE you kill lots of people are far less. Being the only one with a gun makes for a much higher body count.
Arm the teachers. Arm the custodians.
Protect the kids!
Bullshit. They simply go to where lots of people congregate.
Where else do people congregate and also are likely to have guns on them? Ummm...shooting ranges maybe? Hunting meetings?
Or are you saying that there should be armed guards everywhere people get together now? In schools, all over college campuses, in movie theatres, malls, arcades, concerts, sporting events...we should just live with the constant presence of armed guards, like that pic of the Israeli teacher people keep posting - yeah, living in a war zone is awesometimes, I want to emulate that!
