Thank you for this information. If the world does truly end on Friday, I can die a happy person now that I know this. BTW, I was the one thumbs up.

OMG! A red thumb! This could mean any one of the following:

(Most likely scenario here) Someone, somewhere disagrees with you.

You are not as eloquent as you thought you were and someone didn't understand what you were trying to say.

You are not as funny as you thought you were.

You are not as popular as you thought you were and your friends haven't all gotten together to green thumb you to boost your self-image.

You are not as special a snowflake as you thought you were, and not everyone gets a trophy (or green thumb) just for showing up.

You just might be a bit of a wanker.

You get in a tizzy about red thumbs and sometimes people just can't resist that red flag you're waving around all over the place.

Seriously, what healthy human being gives a shiny rat's behind about what some random poster thinks about your totally deep comments on fly spray or draw reins or Poster X's like totally complicated boarding situation?

I fully admit that I use the red thumbs and would were my name attached. You give some, you get some. Some are good, some are bad. Life goes on with little change.

    Honest answer: no.

At this point, most if not all of those are related to this whole thumb down issue anyway!

Even if someone went back through all my old posts to click the red thumb, I would not care. I would wonder about their idea of a good time, however. But I try not to judge how other people spend their precious time.

I'm really hoping that at this point people are using the thumbs down as a form of trolling. People say I am getting hot and bothered about this topic, but that hasn't stopped them from sending 18 more notifications since that post I made showing 70.

I'm pretty sure at this point that you're just trolling everyone else.

I'd thumbs down you, but I'm not interested in contributing to your martyrdom count.

Dinner #Anything with Anchovies - Bad

I've used the red thumb a few times without adding a post in follow up. Most of those times, it was because I knew, either from previous experience with that poster or based on the tone and content of the post, that it would not be worth my time spent crafting a thoughtful and civil disagreement in response. Some people are purposefully inflammatory, sensational, and/or argumentative and that isn't going to produce any sort of valuable discussion.

Other times, I've red thumbed someone and owned it - explaining why. Like on the disability thread on the last OT day.

There are some people I'd like to bitch slap into the next county, though they just aren't worth the energy.

I could make a spin off thread "What is the highest number of notifications you have found between log ins?"

For me, it was 201 in an 18 hour window.

Or, if you are posting in Sporthorse Breeding and get a thumbs down, you are are a self promoting wanker! It happens.

I'd have to make a whole new list for what it means for SHB.
