Boarding/Dressage barn near Chapel Hill, NC?
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any suggestions for a boarding / dressage barn in/near Chapel Hill, NC? I have a 3, coming 4 year old coming my way. I basically need a safe place with some turnout, an arena (preferably with lights or perhaps covered) with decent footing, and a place with a decent trainer, periodic visits from a decent trainer or a place that would allow me to periodically bring in a decent trainer. Ideally, I'd love access to schooling shows or rated shows (this guy needs exposure). ANY and all suggestions would be very helpful.
Thank you!

It might be a little farther north than you want, but Crescent Farm is a great place to board. You can either train with Diane or Chris, or bring your own trainer in. Covered and lighted arenas, great turnout (day/night or 24hrs), miles of trails.

Dressage Barn in Chapel Hill
The very best is North Star Training on Chapel Hill. Call and speak to Lynn Leath. Fabulous facility and owner!

I was just about to suggest this barn! Fantastic trainer and great facilities. She also hosts clinics fairly often.

If I smell like shampoo, I gave my horse a bath.
If I smell like manure, I tripped.

Either of the above barns is what you are looking for, with a young horse I would gravitate to Lynn but Crescent has better turnout for younger horses IMO.

Thanks, guys. I was out at Lynn's auditing the Jessica R. clinic a couple of weeks ago (Lynn offers free auditing, how generous is that!!!?). Lynn is obviously a talented rider and trainer, and all around very nice woman. Her place is pretty spectacular, too! I'd love to board with her. Unfortunately, I think she only boards horses in training, and that puts her out of my price range. Crescent farms is on my list of places to check out - thanks!
Any other suggestions?

I just remembered, there's firstview farm out in apex. It might be too much of a drive, but it could be worth checking out. Dawn Weniger (owner/trainer) is a nice person and from what I've seen of her riding, she seems to do well with young horses
