Does anyone have any suggestions for a boarding / dressage barn in/near Chapel Hill, NC? I have a 3, coming 4 year old coming my way. I basically need a safe place with some turnout, an arena (preferably with lights or perhaps covered) with decent footing, and a place with a decent trainer, periodic visits from a decent trainer or a place that would allow me to periodically bring in a decent trainer. Ideally, I'd love access to schooling shows or rated shows (this guy needs exposure). ANY and all suggestions would be very helpful.
It might be a little farther north than you want, but Crescent Farm is a great place to board. You can either train with Diane or Chris, or bring your own trainer in. Covered and lighted arenas, great turnout (day/night or 24hrs), miles of trails.
Thanks, guys. I was out at Lynn's auditing the Jessica R. clinic a couple of weeks ago (Lynn offers free auditing, how generous is that!!!?). Lynn is obviously a talented rider and trainer, and all around very nice woman. Her place is pretty spectacular, too! I'd love to board with her. Unfortunately, I think she only boards horses in training, and that puts her out of my price range. Crescent farms is on my list of places to check out - thanks!
I just remembered, there's firstview farm out in apex. It might be too much of a drive, but it could be worth checking out. Dawn Weniger (owner/trainer) is a nice person and from what I've seen of her riding, she seems to do well with young horses
If i smell like peppermint, I gave my horse treats.
If I smell like shampoo, I gave my horse a bath.
If I smell like manure, I tripped.
