Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn... her other books are great too. Broken Harbor by Tana French, it is part of a series... they are all awesome.Defending Jacob is another I loved, and When It Happens To You by Molly Ringwald. I wasn't expecting to love that book but it was awesome.
Agreed, I read this on the recommendation of COTHBB and liked it.
Another one I enjoyed (surprised myself) was Armageddon in Retrospect by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. A posthumous collection of short stories, mostly derived from his experiences in WWII as a footsoldier. Covering aspects of the human condition, I found the stories insightful. It also contained a commencement speech he gave; again, insightful.
