Ok, I was going to heed your warning and not look.
Now I am glad I did, there are all winners there.

Hot damn. That just makes me warm and fuzzy all over. I wonder how many of those groups there are out there.

Ach, this post should have a 3 Hanky Warning on it. All verklempt

While the kids are cute, it's the Seasoned Citizens that choke me up big time.

    Thanks for sharing!

Me too. I have a friend that took her minis to a local nursing home and her pictures were priceless. There was one memorable lady with the sweetest smile that had to cuddle and kiss all of them before they left.

I once had the opportunity to take a mini to a nursing home. It was one of the most fun things I've ever done! He even walked up the steps to the porch because most of the people could not come down to the yard.

We also once stuck him in the back seat of the truck too - but that's another story...

Right? Crying at my work desk is so not cool.

And I just realized someday I will be the lady at the nursing home hugging minis!

I agree the children are very cute.... but the one pic towards the end where the old man is bent over the pony really hit me

Default As we already know horses can be magical:

From their website re: a little mare named Magic:
    http://www.horse-therapy.org/magic.htm

"While a reporter was taking photos of a therapy horse visit, a woman who had not spoken since she arrived at the assisted care facility three years earlier began talking to therapy horse Magic. "Isn't she beautiful" were her first words. "It's a horse". The activities director began to cry and told the woman she loved her. "I love you too," the woman answered...her first full sentence to another person. Before Magic left the woman asked, "Will she come back again?" Six months after Magic's first visit the woman is still talking!"

Since my dog has no apptitude for being a therapy dog, I feel as though I must have a therapy pony.

I can only imagine the smiles that erupt when these ponies tippy toe down the hallway. So special.

I've been around horses for 28 years now and I still love them, but seeing those pictures from their website really re-affirmed the power of ponies! Seeing the joy in the peoples' faces as they interacted with the minis was very heart warming, and yes, I got a bit weepy. I think being around them for so long, I kind of forgot how special and truly magical they can be. I need to go make a donation now so this organization can continue bringing joy to young and old....
