Not a paint, but I used Sherwin Williams Exterior solid house stain on my black fence. You can do whatever color you want. Some has been up in full sun now for three years with no fading or peeling. Just follow the directions closely. I buy it when there is a 40% off sale. I did back-brush to really get it into the nooks and crevices. 2 coats, no primer.
I needed a gallon during a non-sale time and bought Behr's solid house and deck stain. They couldn't make it dark enough. I had it tinted 3 times (and it was the right base)--even took some stain out for tint.
Stain will be a matte finish, but should hopefully last longer.
an oil based stain, semi transparent. I have tried all kinds, if the wood is treated, my hubby says it needs to 'age' as the new wood is wet with the treatment. I used Olympic brand on a lattice panel (which I NEVER want to paint again) 3 years later, not even a flake. my neighbor keeps painting his fences black latex and the next year, they are peeling again,
