Maybe one of the guys on the top..though the fall might hurt just as much if the horse ran into me..

Darn! I was going to offer to be the photographer! Well, can I be the one to call out, "Say cheese!"?

I'll be the rail-though I don't think I can sag that well.

It looks to me like the back of the horse is missing.
I just blew it up. I think it's Photoshopped.

I disagree. The back of the horse is not missing, but there's no saddle, rider is bareback. And it's just the sort of stunt one would expect in that era. Not unlike this one from 1916: (Scroll a bit down to see)

I can make out the rump of the horse and the top of his tail. And there is a saddle blanket of some type. It's a photo from the 1920s. Seems like the kind of stunt young men would get up to in those days. And it wasn't the only stunt they pulled. Definitely the same horse. Looks like the same rider too.

Murphy's Mom is right, I can see just a bit of the rump (it's mostly blocked by the two guys making up the right 'standard.') The shadows all line up, too. And right in that this isn't the kind of thing you need to photoshop...heck, Margaret Cable Self's one book on horsemanship had the 'standing up on the back of the horse' picture.

Well, today at our barn, a horse found itself needing to do a gymnastic bounce over a cat! The cat thinks he's invincible; he ran right up behind a crossrail and sat down before the rider could do anything. Poor horse landed and did a bounce over the cat, who didn't even move!
Then again, the cat's in charge anyway.

I am in, but the best spot for me is sturdy on the ground...I am not graceful at all to be on someones shoulders and I am not going to be the jump

Yup, rump of horse is visible behind second boy's head and there is a correct shadow of his hind legs. Can't quite tell if there is kicked up dirt from the takeoff point as there are other equally fuzzy ground areas.
