    19th century rumor had it that zebras were a PITA. Not pettable; somewhere between stubborn and actually mean.

    How about giraffes? I want to pet one of those. Also, they look good when cantering.

    Several zoos allow you to feed giraffes. I won't tell if you sneak in a quick petting as you feed.

    Closest thing to a sauna around here would be tarping over a few cows, hold a bucket of water & light a match.

    Yes, I remember feeding giraffes when I was a kid. They would roll out their tongues and wrap it around the food in our hands (peanuts I think?)
    A friend told me I was delusional. I almost fell off my unicorn.

    When I was little my grandfathers neighbour had a zebra and a camel. The zebra was friendly - you could handle him but a little opinionated. The camel was very easy going, he used to take him in the local christmas parade. He did put the reindeer in the freezer - he was a nasty bugger.
