    Default Isaac Asimov on Cats

"I never tire of listing the virtues of cats. They are beautiful. They are quiet. They are clean. They do not smell, and if their litter boxes are kept clean, they do not cause smells. They are easily housebroken and need not be taken for walks. (In fact, they scorn to be taken for walks - they walk where they darn well please.) They live with dignity and treat you with a quiet condescension that is soothing. (I dislike animals that jump all over you and slobber at you.) On the other hand, when they are at peace with the world, they will sit on your lap and sing softly to you. And at night they do not scorn to sleep in your bed with you."

I grew up reading Asimov's tales, still have some of his old books.
Remember books, that funny, light, almost square thing full of pages?
Can't imagine what a great time he would have today with computers.

I agree, cats are very interesting and, not being that demanding, easy to live with.
Except when they aren't, keep wanting in and out and in and out ...

Asimov quite liked the early computers, glad he liked cats as well.

I knew there were more reasons to like him than just his books! He's got it exactly right!
What's wrong with you?? Your cheese done slid off its cracker?!?!

I think anyone who could write stories about the animated machines that he did, couldn't help but like cats
