Default Where to Buy Plasma Lyte?

Does anyone here give their cat subcutaneous fluids using Plasma Lyte?

I really need to economize right now and would prefer to buy someplace less expensive than my vet.

Do drugstores or medical supply places carry it? Thanks for any help.

How much per bag are you paying now?

Since you'll need a prescription anyway, have you tried asking your vet if you could get a bulk discount or something? Will they match whatever price you have found elsewhere?

You can get it off most vet-pharmacy websites, but I'm not sure it would be any cheaper than getting it from your vet.

PLA (Plasma Lyte A) 0.9% NaCl and LRS are generally interchangable for SQ fluids. You can source out which places offer it cheapest. However, it may only save you a few dollars. Ask your vet to order you a box of PLA, they may give it to you a little cheaper.

I was "misremembering" or estimating the cost from my vet, which is only $15.25per bag according to an itemized bill from this summer. In light of this I'll continue to buy from her. But thank you all for the responses--they are much appreciated!
