    Default Trailer inspections?

Can anyone recommend a good, reputable horse trailer inspection place around the Middleburg/The Plains, VA area?

Also, I've never been but have heard a number of people recommend Taylor Boyz near Warrenton for horse trailer work, as well.

First check VA law to be sure you need an inspection.

In NC, it is not required.

I used to take mine to Trailer Care but switched to Taylor Boyz. They are on 29 outside of Warrenton.

Fergs, why did you switch? Any particular reason?

Also, this is my first horse trailer, so I've never had to do this; do I need to clean out the shavings (they are clean shavings) for them to inspect it? Ot can I leave it in there?

So, you can actually take your trailer to most any service station and get your basic state inspection done, but it's like a 5 minute ho-hum process, you pay your 10 or 15 bucks, and then they send you on your way. The thing I like about Trailer Care (and Taylor Boyz, too, I would suspect) is they they offer a more thorough and specialized safety inspection (for extra cost, should be noted) and really more thoroughly go over and under the trailer. So since they are going to pull up the floor mats to inspect the floor, for that I'd say take out the shavings temporarily.
