what companies are hauling up and down the east coast these days? Last year when I made arrangements for another horse, a lot of my old contacts were out of business

Another COTHer and I were both pleased with the hauler we used a few weeks ago. Not a big name place. They're out of MI. My mare went from MI to VA and the other COTHer's horse went from OH to VA. I could PM you their contact info if you want. They're not a big outfit, but they took great care of the horses and the communication was TERRIFIC.

Equine Express told me they were only doing shipments starting/ending in TX when I called a couple of weeks ago for my MI to VA haul. Maybe that's just a temporary thing though. I also called Hubbard, no dice. But I did PM you with that other contact, OP.

Been 3 years now, but the Pony made the trip from NJ to TN using Athena at Horse Jitney. Couldn't have been happier with the service, communication, and MANY did the little girl get here looking good! I would highly recommend them after that trip, and if I ever need a long distance haul again, I would choose them in a heartbeat.

They're not a big operation, but I was really pleased. The communication was fabulous and my (22YO) mare hopped off happy as a clam. Prices were very competitive.

Depending on what I find here for long term boarding, I may be moving my horse back to MI before we go overseas. Depends. But if I do, I'll use them again if possible.

We were using Equine Express to move Willow from VT to KY, and I've heard nothing but good things about them.
