New premium stallion at Glamorgan Manor
I am beyond thrilled to share the video of Velluto from the ATA stallion licensing held earlier this month in Batavia Ohio. To produce such a colt from my stallion Schiffon *Ps* and a mare I selected specifically to be a good match for him, Pr. St. Viva Vanessa, is a dream come true.
Velluto has been a winner all of his life, most recently winning the 3 year old Colts and being named Reserve Champion Colt at Devon, but he really put it all together for us at Batavia.
The head of the inspection committee, Brad Kerbs, described Velluto's gaits as extravagant and said "we haven't seen a mover like this in a long, long time".
The video also demonstrates his wonderful temperament, good jumping and willingness to work.
Hope you enjoy it! http://youtu.be/oS6of6UcG4I

Stallion
Congratulations!! I have a GOV mare that may be a good cross with him. Please send me particulars. How tall is he?? Stud fee?
My mare produces champions. I would like to see a better video but realize you may not have one yet. This video was just a bit fuzzy. Still, really congratulations on producing such a fine horse for American breeders.

Thank you for sharing the video!
Since hearing about him, I've been hoping to see video. I don't know if I'll be breeding my TK filly someday or buying my next prospect, but I'm trying to learn all I can about the stallions out there - so it's great to see his video!
My horse is a dressage diva so I don't have to be.

Hi everyone - thanks for the kind comments. Velluto ("Louie") truly makes my heart sing every time I look at him.
Sorry about the video being a bit fuzzy, it is all I have at this point.
To answer the questions, he sticked at 16.2 1/2 at the licensing. He might grown another inch? His introductory stud fee will be $1200, with limited bookings as he will also be in performance training.

out of curiosity - what would the registration possibilities be if he were to be bred to a GOV papered mare? Is he going to be/can he be approved for GOV etc?
i *really* like him - a lot! : ) you must just be so thrilled! and his daddy is lovely too!

Hi MBM,
I'm not sure about the GOV. They do have a one time approval rule, it might only be for outside stallions already performance tested who they haven't inspected yet. If all goes well with Velluto's training over the next few months, I am considering sending him to the 70 day test, but that is a nerve wracking thought. I'm under the impression that many of the WB registries are there and will inspect those with high scores for acceptance in their studbook at that time.

Not sure how I have missed this, but wanted to add my congratulations. What a lovely young stallion!
As for OHBS/GOV - Gayle, you may want to double-check with the office, but whenever I have discussed this topic with the officials, I went away with the understanding that they only offer breeding allowances to outside stallions (i.e., ones that are not on their roster), if the stallion is licensed by an acknowledged registry AND has met performance requirements to Oldenburg's standards. It was also implied that they do not grant a breeding allowance to a young stallion that has not yet met full performance requirements.
