Only my weanling... lol! NEW w/pics from today!
So, due to some new boarder shuffling, my 7 month old filly had to vacate the stall she's been in for the past 4 months (aka the taj mastall) for another perfectly nice (nicer even) stall with totally new neighbors.
Once in the new stall, she spent the whole morning whinnying. She wasn't worked up, pacing or anything like that, just... whinnying... like: "Hey! Dense biped... something's not right here!!
I assumed she was calling for her previous neighbor (who doubles as her turnout buddy. Nope...
Then I assume she's calling for her mom, even though normally she couldn't care less about her. Nope... that's not it either.
So, later this afternoon I went to move her foal feeder (now retrofitted for her "big girl" nose) into her new stall for dinner.
AND WE HAVE A WINNER!!!
When she saw her beloved blue feeder she did a happy dance of JOY! She excitedly called to it, and assisted with its reinstallment by shoving her fat little grey nose inside and licking every inch of it, while bopping me ecstatically with with her nose every few seconds.
I was laughing so hard I could barely tighten the bolts. Only *MY* foal would be so attached to her magical blue feeder of happiness! (tm)

I heard a neigh. Oh, such a brisk and melodious neigh as that was! My very heart leaped with delight at the sound. --Nathaniel Hawthorne

Oh yes... back when she was cute... *sigh* I remember those days...
Right now she kinda looks like a pygmy goat crossed with a shetland pony. But I still love her! ;-)

Awkward stage or not, I think she'll be very nice.
Oh, and a food fiend? You'll be happy every time she ever has to eat medicine for the rest of her life. It's one of my homebred gelding's big skills. Love it!

OMG that's absolutely adorkable!
You know you'll never be able to separate her from the blue feeder anymore, now?
Yes, I smell like a horse. No, I don't consider that to be a problem.
