Trying to get my reindeer to pose for a Christmas card photo.
Not as easy as it sounds.

Can I see your horsey Christmas photos for inspiration, please?

Actually, I think the picture you posted is possibly the best fake-reindeer picture I've ever seen. Heck, I'd like to make that MY xmas card!!!

I think that one is perfect!
I'd add the caption:
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good,
give him carrots for goodness sake!
You jump in the saddle,
Hold onto the bridle!
Jump in the line!

Agree with everyone else -- I love that one! It looks REAL. He's either watching over you as MistyBlue says, or getting ready for takeoff, or both!
PRS, yours are very cute, too.

How about Santa
That's adorable!!
Here's my Santa: http://s1194.beta.photobucket.com/us...17403857986807
Back in the days before you could buy antlers for your animals, I made a set out of chicken wire and paper bags and went into a costume class with my horse as a reindeer (she was a petite chestnut so it worked) and me as an elf. It was going just fine and we were in the line-up. The judge had everyone back. When we backed, the crowd started howling with laughter. I couldn't figure it out until afterward when someone told me it looked like my mare was getting ready to gore the judge. I know, weird sense of humors in that crowd.

I like your pic, it's so real.
What is the dark shape in the background?

Some beautiful pictures, guys—thanks! To answer some questions, 1) yes, it's Arrietty. She was actually unfazed by the gear but acutely interested in tasting the camera! Fenway was dressed up, too, but she kept blocking my shot. 2) That's my black chihuahua, Clover, in the background.
I think I need to try one more round of photos next time the sun comes out, but it feels like Barrow, AK around here lately: so much cloud cover that it almost looks like eternal twilight.
Cheers!
