    Cool Christmas came early!

So I find myself as the partner of a new TB, not really sure how it happened . . .I think I may have been temporarily possessed. Ok, that's a lie, I have been Obsessed forever!

In any case, he is a six year old bright chestnut with 3 high white socks and a blaze, JC name Baton, by Bowman's Band, out of Prospective Glow sired by Allen's Prospect.

Usually, I don't have an issue with JC names, but this one just isn't working, so please any and all help with names much appreciated!!

Feeling so excited! A "pony" of my very own!!

Fiscal Cliff - every time I hear it I think it would make a good name for a horse.

And Congrats on the early Christmas present to yourself! We do need pictures!

Haa! This fall I felt the same way about "Swing State." If you want to keep the "band" thing going, what about Big Band? I suppose it depends on how big he is...

I don't know if I've seen him specifically, but I've seen pics of a chestnut with that description who was a PC descendent... Congratulations!

I don't think the name is bad personally, and like keeping the JC name if possible, but would go something about conductors if you do decide to change it.
My horse is a dressage diva so I don't have to be.

    Pass the Baton
    Field Marshal (uses a baton)
Musical Conduct (playing on that use for a baton)

Found this interesting definition for batonheraldry) An abatement in coats of arms to denote illegitimacy. (Also spelled batune, baston) Is your new guy an illegitimate offspring?

    Conductor
    Maestro
Previn (Andre Previn is a famous conductor)
Blackjack (synonym of Baton as a billy club)
Shotgun (synonym of baton as a general weapon)

I have always wanted to name a horse, WOAH DAMMIT, but I think I'm alone in that!

    Glowing Prospects--"Pross" for short.

Do remember tho-the Brits always considered a name change "bad luck', but that was 50 years ago.
Some riders change their horse, they change their saddle, they change their teacher; they never change themselves.

He's great! Renamed "Cue the Music", Cue for short.

Still very mellow, which is just fine as the weather up here for riding without an indoor is iffy. The best was riding him bareback in the farm pasture through the newly fallen 10" of snow a couple weeks back, felt like a kid!! Love him!!!

Congrats on your new boy. My OTTB girl looks a lot like him. Same color, blaze- though she only has two white feet. Have fun and keep us posted.
