Need recommendations for a good and honest trainer that would take a fancy medium pony on consignment and get it sold. Willing to ship just about anywhere if it's the right person but I'm assuming Florida would be the best bet for the winter?

There are so many nuts and crooks out there, especially in ponies, that I'm afraid to trust anyone I don't know personally. Market here in Canada sucks right now with winter closing in and we can't keep the pony in work as we don't have an indoor arena.

Pony is a VERY fancy top of the line medium with show record, jumps a 10, brave, great lead changes, will get a good hack ribbon, and sweet as pie. Have no rider for him so he needs to get sold or leased.

Really need recommendations please for reputable people that actually DO get ponies moved. Not someone that will throw a pile of bills my way and make money leasing to clients at the same time without bothering to try to sell...been there done that. Have horses I could send too if the person will really do the job.

Post here or PM if you prefer. Being Canadian I don't really know the movers and shakers in Florida or elsewhere in the US. Only know of some of the notorious ones to stay away from LOL.

I grew up riding in south florida and know that Jennifer Bieling of pony power is a great source for top ponies. She is in Wellington and circuit is just starting there. You could also reach out to Bibby Farmer at Don Stewart stables in Ocala, Florida. She's another great person and I would trust either with my horse.

I second Jen or Bibby, both are phenomenal! I had the pleasure of "borrowing" one of Jen's leggier pony kids for one of my hunters at WEF last year to do the children's and the girl rode BEAUTIFULLY. She had been champion and reserve in the mediums and larges the same weekend and all she does for Jen is catch ride. Seems like she has a whole gaggle of girls who are just as good, willing, and eager. Exactly the kind of kids you want showing off a fancy pony at a show like WEF! And Jen is an outstanding horsewoman. I'd highly recommend getting in touch with her.

Anywho. I would say send to Jen or Bibby, both have wonderful reputations and a good client base. If you're unaware of who to stay away from pm me and I'll send a list of a couple I wouldn't touch with a 500 foot pole.

Yep, definitely Jen Bieling--she is the pony lady, afterall. I have friends who grew up riding with her and they are lovely, soft riders.

Before I sent a pony from Canada all the way to Florida to be sold, I would take a good look at the pony market. The Pony Finals auction prices were really low with most ponies going under $10000. With the commissions and consignment cost plus shipping and insurance to Florida, I wonder if it is worth it? If it is the pony that is on your website and at the price you have listed, I would bet you could call some of the well known pony trainers in Canada and see what you can do there instead.

I would also take a look at the Facebook page. "Just Ponies for sale or lease" which gets a lot of traffic. You will get a feel for prices there too I think. They aren't super low but with what you could potentially spend in Florida, they may not seem worth it.

Sending a pony to Palm Beach will be quite expensive. Be sure that your profit margin can offset the expense. Ocala can usually be a bit less expensive and I think the number of sales are about the same in both places. Often shoppers go to both. If your pony is that nice, word will get out to all venues.

I'll add that I've seen Ava ride before and she is a great rider and is definitely set to be one of the top juniors soon. If anyone knows her feel free to let her know that I think well of here. I would second that she'd make a great jockey for any pony.
