We had a loose heifer in town, awhile back. She escaped from the local livestock auction (clever girl, lol) and was loose for about a week. The AC officer knows me & knows I have a stock trailer, so she when they caught her, one evening, she called me to transport her. I have no "cow proof" fencing, so I ended up keeping her in my stock overnight until the farmer could come get her the next morning. OMG! The mess was appalling. You think you know poo when you have horses, but this was a completely different experience. I second, third, and fourth the car wash, I'd even up the ante and say pressure washer.

The cows have settled in nicely, and are getting pretty friendly. They run over when they hear the feed cart headed their way, and let me scratch them all over now when they are eating. They are a lot cleaner han they were after their trailer ride homw when I snapped these pics. They are pretty gently and curious, I think I am going to enjoy having them around
