    Default fleece and static cling

this seems to be an on going problem here in PA, and my horse freaks when you are taking her liner off and hates being ridden in a quarter sheet b/c of the feeling the static from the fleece. She's clipped and we ride outside all year, so I like to use them to at least get things warmed up and when we cool down.

anyone else have this problem? what do you do? I was going to invest in a giant can of scotch gaurd....

My mare can be pretty sensitive to static/fleece, and my friend's gelding is a total drama queen! We have tried rubbing them over with a dryer sheet before you put on your quarter sheet, seems to help a bit but not 100%. Would love to hear other suggestions!

Natural fibers whenever possible. Wool for quarter sheets are the best option. Extra fabric softener can help but it will break down the fabric faster.

I haven't had a problem with Rambo's thick 1/4 sheets in Newmarket. Their fleece cooler is the same thicker material, also no static so would work under blankets. I'm in a wetter climate, so maybe you know someone that has one you can try out first... or order from SmartPak because they will take it back if it doesn't work because they are so awesome like that

I keep a can of static guard in my grooming bag and spray the 1/4 sheet before I put it on.

Never had a problem with static when I use a wool blanket. I also know the super thick fleece ones (ie Rambo) seem to be a lot better for static.

Show Sheen works pretty well for me for static cling
