Default what vaccum do you like for dog hair?

I have a collection of cheap and hand me down vacuums and really need ONE GOOD one to get dog hair of of carpets.

well I LOVED my dyson, but when it gave up the ghost two weeks ago, we replaced it with a shark (the $200) one and it seems to be just as good for half the price. But... it is a bit top heavy to me pushing it and hte vacuum head is not as wide so it doesn't cover as much floor in one sweep. Still easier to push than the dyson tho. I actually told dh to get the mid priced one (about 160 at Wallyworld) cause that is what Consumer reports recommends but the 200 one was on sale for like 170 so he grabbed it.

I bought a Hoover Pet cyclonic Upright Bagless, and it seems to do a great job. Emptying the big bagless container is very easy too. It's not the lightest, but I really like the cleaning it does. You can also turn the brushes off for bare floor or wood floor, and I really like that.

I second the Hoover. I have 4 GSDs inside with Labs in and out. It does a good job on the wood floors and carpets both.
