What do you want to know about it? I tried one - like any saddle, you need the right saddle for YOU and your HORSE - it doesn't matter what other people think about it! It is more of a jumping type seat - more open then many of the dressage saddles, and the flap was a bit more forward.

I loved the open seat, and in the one I tried, it was just a bit too small for me, so I opted for a different saddle. There were many things I liked about the saddle - the open seat, the slightly more forward flap, and the short panels (at least on the one I tried) - it fit my horse quite well, and if it had been a 1/2 inch larger seat, I would have bought it. My horse went quite well in it too.

CS has discontinued the model if I remember right because so many people didn't like the more open seat.

Thanks for responding! You answered my questions. I couldn't figure out why it was discontinued, so thanks! It apparently has been replaced with the Wolfgang Constanze, which I trialed and really liked...but am not sure if I LOVED, because it was the first one I tried. I like that the Coronado is a monoflap; I feel more "one" with him in a monoflap. I do like that it is a bit more open, but I'm not sure how I will like the more forward flap. If it is more of a hybrid saddle, then I don't think that will work. We are just switching to dressage, and I may need a bit more help with my leg position. I'm tall with a very long femur...so I'm hoping that the flap is long enough. I wasn't looking for a new saddle...but then again, I wasn't looking for a horse, either, and I couldn't be any happier with him .

Do you know if it is suitable for a short-backed horse?

I am demo-ing a Costanze right now - if you like that, you are probably similar to me in build/balance I have that long femur too! The Coronado I tried had the short panels (Pony Panels) which are great for a short backed horse - my guy is also short coupled. If you buy a new saddle, they can put Pony Panels on any model - for a used/demo saddle, ask them if it has Pony Panels.

It isn't really a "hybrid" saddle - it is a dressage saddle, but with the more flat/open seat and slight forward in the flap (very slight). I am a dressage rider, jumping scares the bejesus out of me, and I actually liked the Coronado quite a bit. And I'm riding mid-levels in it - 4th/PSG work.

I am in Nor-Cal - wondering if you are looking at the same Coronado I was looking at?
