Rest in Peace - Vikki Karcher Siegel (aka "Snowy" to many of us)
I learned yesterday that Snowy passed away.
She was the force behind the Snowbird Horse Shows in New Jersey.
She also served as President of the USA Horse Shows Association and served on the USEF Committee for Competition Management.
Rest in peace dear Snowy.

Back in the beginning of COTH forums Snowbird posted a lot here; her opinions were strong but based on her years of experience. I remember her most during the AHSA/USET brouhaha. She was one of the best we've had.
RIP, Snowy. May there be horses and something like your mountain for you still.

Oh no! I was just thinking about her the other day. I'll always remember her fire-y spirit and her strong opinions! But she did so much for so many, and was a kind heart. I never met her in person but I always admired her.
I am so sorry to hear about Vikki. I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person but enjoyed our conversations while working with her on rule change proposals for the USEF a few years back. Condolences to her family and friends. Godspeed Snowy.
I was just thinking about Vikki yesterday ... I recently moved to NH and was unpacking some of my many Snowbird trophies. I spent many many weekends up on the mountain. You knew it was going to be a bad winter when it snowed at Vikki's Halloween show.
Vikki was a fixture in the NJ horse show community. One thing about Vikki: she was very much about supporting the grass roots of showing, and ensuring that her shows were accessible to the average working horse person, not just the elite. And she wanted to be sure that in the future, there was a broader path from the grass roots to the top of the sport.
We need more people like Vikki in the sport. She will be missed. Goodspeed, Vikki.
Why do I like most horses better than most people?
