I hate Firework by Katy Perry.
I also hate anything by Carrie Underwood. I can't stand her screaming voice.
Ginger--I agree with you on Shinedown's "Bully." I love Shinedown, one of my favorite bands, but that song is just dumb.

Here, maybe this will make you feel better: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/918156..._ho_f_king_ho/

Language warning, it is pretty crude and many people will find it offensive. It does neatly sum up my feelings about Christmas music being played from the beginning of November.

More Christmas parodies on youtube if you look up Bob Rivers.

By the second week of December I pretty well hate all the Christmas songs, but one of the ones that I have loathed for years is Burl Ives,' Have a Hully Gully Christmas'. I don't even know if that is what he is singing, I just know I want to pour hot wax in my ears when I hear it.

oops. I just checked with my husband - the correct title of the song is
    'Have a Holly Jolly Christmas'.

Tamara, one of my all time hates is Neil Young, He sounds like a cat fight without the enthusiasm. I think the worst he ever did was butcher Ian Tyson's Four Strong Winds - it's painful to listen to. Can't discredit his song writing (despite Helpless) but he never should have tried singing.

That horrendous song (cover?) by Pearl Jam where the girlfriend dies in a car accident and he's all "Oh where oh where could my baby be, da doop" with about as much emotive musical intonation as if he were absentmindedly looking for his keys.

Also red solo cup. Even the DJs talk about not liking that one.

That is Last Kiss, and the first version by J Frank Wilson isn't super either. Always sounded incongruous with its bouncy beat and depressing lyrics. Unfortunately, I am old enough to remember the original version and a great number of other songs of the same ilk: Deadmans Curve, Tell Laura I Love Her, Moody River and on and on..

Ha ha ha! The next time you hear Last Kiss (I think it's the Pearl Jam version but now I'm second guessing myself), listen closely to the backup girls. At one point in the song they're supposed to be holding a sustained note and they apparently run out of breath or something in the middle of it. It goes from "laaaaaaa" to a huge "laaaaaagggghhhh" and they sound like a dying cat. It's all I can hear now when that song comes on and it cracks me up every time.
It's not about the color of the ribbon but the quality of the ride. Having said that, I'd like the blue one please!

Oh ! I thought of another one...unfortunately it's stuck in my head.
    ;(

I had to look up the lyrics, since I only remember one line
    "blah blah blah blah
and put up a parking lot
    A ooh dat dat dat
    A ooo dat dat dat"

    Repeatx10000

Apparently it's called Big yellow taxi and its by Joni Mitchell - but I don't mind her version - whomever redid makes it sound like nails scraping down a blackboard!

Excuse my grammar- I'm typing on my phone as I need to get my compy fixed!

Anything sung by William Hung. Though, he did a cover that provided some comic relief at a family dinner. He sang a cover of R. Kelly's "I believe I can fly" and it was being played on the radio over and over again. Well, the melody came across the muzak system at a fancy Chinese restaurant and without thinking I am sitting at the table busting out the William Hung cover "I breeeeerrrreeeeevvveeeee I can fry!!!" My mother turned to me with a horrified look and said "YOU ARE IN A CHINESE RESTAURANT!!!!" She was mortified! It was one of those whoops moments. I didn't mean to do it out loud but I couldn't help myself!!

Thought I'd add anything by Lady Gaga, but specifically Poker Face. I cannot stand her at all. (but will admit to liking Glee's version of some of her songs...but Poker Face can't even make it out of the crapper with Glee doing it.)

I'm pretty sure that's R. Kelly, not Seal.
Keith: "Now...let's do something normal fathers and daughters do."
    Veronica: "Buy me a pony?"

    Cotton Eyed Joe - Rednex

I am sorry but makes me want to punch babies.

    Electric Slide as well.

also 1,000 Miles by Vanessa Caralton or Michelle Branch or whoever with that flarking annoying piano rhythm.

I actually kind of love the Pearl Jam "Last Kiss" cover...

That cover of Joni's "Big Yellow Taxi" is Counting Crows. I normally love them but agree that that cover is terrible...
