I have only used Nikon so I can't say which is better but I have been using Nikon SLRs for about 5 years now, and I LOVE them. They are both easy for beginner but still awesome enough for the advanced. Nikon was also recommended to me by the owner of my local camera shop.
I know its not much but hope it helps!
Eventers of the West
A Facebook group I created for Eventers in the West Region of the U.S. Remy - My OTTB Gelding! Love him to pieces!
Where did you get this info? I have never heard such about him.
Read the "About" section of his website. One of the fun traditions you will see on quite a few of the known photo forums is discussing whatever Ken has decided to rant about or review lately and then poking holes in what he says. Just google "Ken Rockwell" and "idiot" or "controversy" and you'll come up with plenty of results. He's like the Rush Limbaugh of digital photography.
Thus do we growl that our big toes have, at this moment, been thrown up from below!
I haven't owned a serious camera since long before electronic cameras were imagined. What I find intriguing in seeing this thread is that before I was in high school, Nikon and Canon SLR's were still head and shoulders above all the rest, each with superlative optics and versatility. Each had its adherents. I think Nikon was ahead then in terms of sales perhaps in part because most media photographers preferred them.
