I see Paul S and Joseph Klaphake sitting in the audience. Think I also spotted Wilhelm Weerda (President of the Oldenburg Verband). Makes sense for PS to be there, since he is chairman of the Oldenburg Jumping Verband, but I am also wondering if he is looking for a new jumper stallion to buy!

So far #49 Furst Romancier / De Niro / Eiger III is my favorite.

I find it sad that out of 71 horses, there are only 4 that are chestnut....

I loved that one while he was trotting, but it seemed that was his only gait - the walk looked so-so and he fell out of canter. That Quaterback/Stedinger combination seems to have been a pretty popular cross in Oldenburg - I remember seeing a fair number of colts with similar pedigrees going to the selections in the past few years. Not too many have been licensed, though - I think only the one from last year (Quinzanos - ?).

Agree - quite disappointing. But I am not surprised - Oldenburg has always traditionally preferred dark coated stallions, esp. for dressage. The bias at the stallion selections is so well known, a breeder friend over there told me he automatically gelds his red colts and doesn't even bother trying to raise them as stallion prospects.

Eurodressage had a very positive review of the 2012 collection: http://www.eurodressage.com/equestri...ion-collection

The Licensing results list from the (OS) Jumper stallions this morning is already up; Licensed Premium stallions = (gek- Pramie), Licensed stallions = (gekört), Stallions not Licensed = (nicht gekört):

Wow, I really loved that Furstenball / Donnerschwee colt. And this Gribaldi / Clavecimbel isn't too shabby, either!

That's sad about the reds being gelded automatically.

Well, I just watched #54 again at liberty (missed the free jumping) and I thought he still looked fabulous. His canter is huge and he was a bit "up" and excited during the canter so I'd like to see it under saddle. But his walk looked fine to me. And his trot is exceptionally good. He gots lots of bursts of applause from the crowd.

    I'll take him!
