I don't live in VA anymore, so I had no idea. They were great people though. The owner always gave me a discount. The longer I walked around and pondered my purchase, the better it was. He helped me fit an Irish Draught I was working with and then ordered me the saddle at a discount too. They also helped a local Andalusian breeder I am friends with, with a sponsorship which was super nice.
I'm so upset to hear this. All my first horsey gear, including my first saddle, came from Crawford's! I hope the owners have the best retirement ever because they more than deserve it....IIRC the guy was older, right?

I heard recently that Mr. Crawford decided to retire and the business has been sold to the company that owns Dover. The rumor is that they are going to open again sometime in the future with their western division, I cannot remember what it is called...
