Sorry dear, but I find the word "retarded" offensive. It hasn't been politically correct for many years now. And I would think you of all people would know this.

Bacardi, Tiffany was responding to someone who asked what the "backwards R" meant. I'm not sure how responding "It means retarded" is any more offensive than answering the same to "What does 'the R word' mean?" Tiffany just happened to be wrong about what someone meant by a phrase. She was not using the word to refer to a person or a thing.

Or, perhaps it is offensive to some to use the word at all, even to explain what someone else means (incorrectly or not). If so, I would make the same mistake, as I would not have known not to say the word as a clarification if someone asked.

    Did that really just happen?

Bacardi1, you might have to give up a slice of the moral high ground right about now.

Because I don't like the use of the word "retarded"?

Nahhh. I'll find something else to give up "a slice of the moral high ground" IF I feel it necessary.

Interesting how you are offended by the word, but you have no problem stalking someone with a disability from thread to thread posting snippy comments to make yourself feel big. Your behavior is repulsive.

You know, Tiffany, that's completely inappropriate, and I am SURE you know it. I'm also certain that you don't think that Long Spot really meant 'retarded' when she used the 'R' in Toys R Us.

I see that I came late to the comments and this was already discussed, but I still stand by my response to that.

No, you need to give up some of the moral high ground because you made an ad hominem attack on Tiffany01 while skillfully avoiding the most bald form of it and skirting hypocrisy.

I thought it was passing a pastry one didn't care for, on to someone else as a gift.

I would LOVE if someone would retart me!

Back to Black Friday. I've never understood the attraction. Hate crowds. Hate crowded parking lots and the crazy driving around malls or stores. When I shop, I like to get in , buy, get out, go home.

My Mom, God rest her soul, used to drag her cousin (God rest HIS soul, too) to the local mall and the two of them would join the herds of shoppers shuffling through the stores. She'd come home with Christmas cards, wrapping paper, I don't know what all. I think she LIKED the chaos.

Dad and I would stay home and watch football.

Re/Black Friday. One of the most popular deals around is a local chain that would put socks on half price for the early bird deal on Black Friday. I think they still do it, but I'm so obviously out of touch (not knowing the backwards R = ToysRUs!), I can't say for sure. But many of my co-workers and relatives would stop at that store on the way to work in the wee hours of the morning to get those half price socks.

And then I would go the next week on my lunch hour and buy socks at the same store for even less --they always put them out marked down even more the next week.
