Although I've never been a huge Bond fan, I have seen all the movies. It's sort of an American Icon thing. Loved Sean Connery, HATED what the Roger Moore era did to the character (all totally silly gadgets and throwaway girls and fighting without a hair getting out of place) but was wooed back by Pierce Brosman who was oh so very cool, and was hesitant about accepting Daniel Craig as Bond.

But he sold me with the first movie and I found that I loved the new gritty Bond who often got injured and showed pain and sometimes a bit of fear. The second Craig Bond was a bit disappointing but that was the writing, I think.

This one? EXCELLENT! Really. Good writing, acting, fab cinematography. The villan was a bit over the top, but interesting. I'll see it again.

I'm not a big 007 fan...but decided to go see this one and it was good. Daniel Craig is always worth it.

And I loved the estate, Skyfall....would love to live in a place like that. Starkly beautiful, old manor house in a remote area....beautiful.

One part brought a long, drawn out moan of "oh nooooo" from me (and some funny looks from those seated adjacent ) ....when the gamekeeper sawed the barrels off of that lovely old double hammered side-by-side shotgun.

Loved it. It was a bit different than normal. I didn't like how the woman who was promoted as the "bond girl" died so fast. Bond girls don't die in 20 minutes. M was the bond girl in this one.

M was definitely the Bond girl in this one. And what a Bond girl she was!

Loved it! I was so absorbed that I never noticed how long it was. Thought it had a great story (unlike Quantam of Solace which had 0 story) and loved the character development of Bond and M's fondness for him. Javier Bardem was also wonderfully creepy. And Daniel Craig was gorgeous as always, especially in the suits. Only other man who I think can rival him in a tailored suit is Alexander Skarsgard.

Some of the cinematography was just stunning - the fight scene in the Shanghai skyscraper behind all the glass and neon signs, and the view of the manor burning with everything in an orange relief. Just stunning.

Also love, love Ralph Fiennes as the new M, and Ben Whishaw as the new Q

I just recently saw the movie Red, with Helen Mirren as a retired spy. She was great in that role. Maybe she could be the Bond girl in the next Bond movie!

And by the way, huge props to the person who came up with the idea of having James Bond parachute into the Olympics with Queen Elizabeth over the summer.

I really enjoyed it. The cinematography was excellent, especially the last bit in the house. I also thought the subway scene was really cool too. I'm not a Bond fan necessarily, I saw it more as something to do - but I was impressed.

I loved Skyfall! I didn't notice the length, and I saw it on what was otherwise a long, boring date with someone I wasn't very into.

You mean the dogs you heard barking near the end of the movie, yet never saw? I noticed that in the movie - you hear guard dogs barking presumably to warn James et. al. that the enemies are near, yet never see them.

I knew exactly what you meant, black lab types..I wondered the same thing during the movie.

I loved loved LOVED this one!!!! I didn't think I'd like it more than Casino Royale, but I definitely did, and am going to watch both of them again very soon.

As soon they started talking about driving down the A9 my heart was in my throat, and then they crossed Rannoch Moor and went into Glen Coe in that awesome car and OMG it made me miss Scotland more than I can even begin to describe.

Loved the final scene in the manor house; got very emotional during the scene in the church.

I also loved the chases in the tube - fantastic! The new Q is great. He's very type casted & I love it!

I thought Adele's opening song was perfect for the movie, and she has such an incredible voice. I loved the first scene of him on that awesome motorbike in Turkey.

ETA: On the length, we didn't even notice how long it was till we got outside and actually looked at the time in the car, so there you go :-P

Haven't seen it yet, but Daniel Craig's portrayal comes closest of all the Bonds to being that of the character of Ian Fleming's books: a thin veneer of civility covering a vicious beast when provoked.

Waiter: "Would that be shaken or stirred, Sir?"
Bond: "Do I look like I give a damn?"

The shared affection of Craig's Bond and Judi Dench's "M" is evident. I do hate to see her giving up the role as she was the best "M" of the group.

I'll be waiting for the DVD for my collection.
