That is the main problem with at least the TD, that no one but the thumber knows who or why.

At least with the TU you may wonder, but in a good way.

Isn't lauraky mutli-racial? I think she can spot a bigot pretty quickly.

Being a bigot spans all ethnicities.

Or are you of the opinion only multi-racial folks can be Bigot Spotters? So if I were Asian I could not spot a bigot but if I were half-Asian I could?

the "Helpful Post Ratings" appears to have a retain cap of about sixty then the older "helpful post ratings" wash out... I counted them but some lines are doubled if the "helpful post rating" refers to a thread you started

helpful in what nature I cannot figure out

Not sure what the hullabaloo is all about. I don't mind either TU or TD. It just tells me someone agreed or didn't agree with me, nothing more & nothing less. There is no need to obsess about passive aggressive thumbing or wonder who did it etc. Just a "hmm" and go about your business.

Frankly, it cleans up the ditto this postings and it's easier for me to just agree with someone who may be more eloquent rather than re-state/rehash. Why waste the energy to get all verklempt about it?

Gee - I'd better get more controversial - some of you have up to sixty thumbs - wonder who has the most - care to share? I have about 10! Need a good trainwreck so I can up my count.

I hate them too. At least on Facebook it's not anonymous. Actually, what I think would be really funny, is if the Mods changed the feature, to where we could all see who gave the thumbs up/down, on every post, including past ones....

I like them, but it won't ruin my world if they go away.
I also wouldn't mind if they had names attached, but I suspect that's a whole boatload of coding TPTB won't want to deal with.

not really necessary to be controversial, just piss-off the correct person... I just got seven of the dumpy thumby downy thingys as some one went down a thread and punched the button in sequence as each post has an ID number

as for totals, I am not sure the person getting the thumby things will ever know as the system washes out the oldest responce once you hit arround sixty of the things

I had the same thing happen LOL!! You can pretty much pinpoint who is doing it by the timing.

I really would rather not know they are that creepy passive aggressive and asinine.

Really really strange. I would hate to see if I posted something really controversial!
I've gotten one like that too Samois! Just from a random thread not making waves.

I haven't given a TD and probably won't. I like giving the TU because I am just usually agreeing with the poster or like what they said, but don't want to post it.

I know on the HGS forum you can give 'likes' and your name will appear, but you can also give 'reputation' points good and bad, you can choose to leave a comment and your name, most times nobody will leave their name if they give you a bad rep, which is why I don't really like this system of anonymous TU or TD. Because it's obvious that some people are trolling or stalking members just to give a TD. That's pretty childish and just not nice.

Yes, some people think it's funny to troll, or mess with the TU's or TD's -
seems a bit immature rather than funny, but on the Dressage thread the Mods are looking into the matter after sorting out some other glitches.

I can't help but giggle when I get a TD, when I set the record I intend to celebrate with a nice glass of wine. Make my day!

We COULD turn this into a drinking game. Every thumbs down is 2 shots, every up is 1.

    What could happen then?
A good horseman doesn't have to tell anyone...the horse already knows.

Might be a reason, never an excuse...
