Need a name for my filly ...
Input please. Need an official name for a yearling TB filly I adopted this summer when it was determined she wasn't destined for the yearling sale. (Dam had three other foals who, through no fault of their own, never made it to the races, so filly had little shot of fetching a decent price.)
Her destiny is to be a sport horse at this point ... she's chestnut with a large star, and a feisty personality to match. Came with the barn name Trixie, which I'm keeping, but it doesn't have to be incorporated into the registered name. Her sire is Tejano Run, and her dam is a mare called Lakewater, who is by Salt Lake. (I've already checked into lake names in Texas, and there really weren't any that floated my boat, but if you know of a cool one, please let me know!)
Currently on the shortlist:
Tejano Trick
Garam Masala (I was thinking spicy attitude)
Brightsideoflife (I have two other TBs whose registered names are Python-related ... would love to come up with another Python-themed name, but feminine ones are a little hard to come by!)
Any ideas?

Not Python-esque, but from another BBC show ("Rumpole of the Bailey"):
Shewhomustbeobeyed (she who must be obeyed) And it fits in the JC's 18 letter limit. If I can think of anything from Python, I'll edit later. Good luck with your new girl!

Mrs. Nesbitt (though that might not be good as I'm thinking of "Mrs Nesbitt, will you stand up, please? *BANG* Mrs Nesbitt has demonstrated the value of Not Being Seen.")
I like pedigree names, and Tejano Trick isn't taken....or Lake Tejano, if you wanted to work both in...

How about....
'Still Running Water'
It incorporates the dam and sire and is a pretty name. That's my shot at it!

Lady of the Lake would be perfect, if you can get it!
Failing that, some other reference to the Strange Women Lying in Ponds speech.

Why not incorporate her barn name? I think it's cute.

In honor of my favorite monty python sketch, you could name her Pining for the Fjords or Norwegian Blue. Spanish Inquisition is also fun.

Assuming you don't plan to race her, why not name her "Ain't Running"? or "If Nominated" (as is "if nominated I will not run")?
Or would that affect her breeding prospects?

Funny you should say that. My homebred gelding (by Birdonthewire out of my El Prado mare, Great Lady, if anyone's interested) is registered as Norwegian Blue. (I wanted an avian reference in his name to recognize his sire. And as a baby, he had all kinds of flaxen hair in his otherwise-bay tail ... beautiful plumage!)
Spanish Inquisition, alas, is too long. (It just makes it if you leave out the space, mind you.)
I really appreciate all the great suggestions everyone's had so far, though! I'm also considering "Mexican Wine", which is a Fountains of Wayne song I'm fond of. Take Texas and go south, and turn the water into wine ...

One letter too many, isn't it, Hallie? I thought the limit was 18 including spaces. But you probably know the rules better than I do!

Well, if you look at my signature, you'll see where my vote lies! but doing a little thinking:
Silly Walks
LakePythonchatrain
Tricks of Tejano
Personally I don't care for the name Trixie, so I wouldn't want to see it in her registered name. I like registered names that either have some gravitas, or homage to the sire and dam, or are clearly so clever (Thewifedoesntknow) that they make you chuckle. Nobody wants that registered name that when you hear it makes you say, "That's gotta go!"
