Once I did a walk-trot intro test on a very green horse...who was VERY bad and spent much of the test trying to canter out of the ring...the comment at the bottom:

"There is no canter work in this test."

    My first test:

a frowny face after my "nice halt" turned into a "stopped to poop" (& wouldn't restart)

It was our barn schooling show, and I asked the scribe later about it. Judge added it during review

"A little cranky" on the day my horse was given a very generous 4 for submission... after we were given longer than 45 seconds to get in the ring and the judge told me after the show he wanted to call out to me "try backing in!"
My horse is a dressage diva so I don't have to be.

No extra points for tempi changes at this level (Novice test)

in the comments section "Very Tactical Ride"

I had watched horse after horse dodge and wiggle to avoid the water puddle at B on the long side. I rode my eventer TB gelding directly between the puddle and the white chain - a generous 6" wide spot - no spook, no waver, no problem....

I really liked the "Energetic youngster with good potential" comment I got with my quirky 20+ year old gelding once

"Frisky!" in response to full-of-herself mare starting a canter depart with a leap into the air and a head toss.

"Well ridden for the horse you got today". This after Sterling bucked 5 times during the test.

My favorite with him "A lovely pair, you two have a great connection".

"If horse had longer legs, lengthenings would be easier"

    "Very tactful and determined rider"

Maresy's first show in a year, and let's just say she wasn't having it.

One judge called my mare a "good egg"! I guess it is better than a rotten one?

    "Nice, but unasked-for, tempis"

    In training level (straight dressage)

In order to think outside the box, one must first know what is in the box.

On my old guy, doing OI at Rebecca Farms: "Horse is unsuitable for this level." Of course we were one of only 2 double clean on XC and one of 4 to make it around the SJ with 4 faults or less.
