A friends horse is in need of a chiropractor in the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area- does anyone have any recommendations? She is new to that area.

I know several who use Kyla and like her, but I personally loved Charlie Westman.

Yes, a pal has used him for years & loves him. He is one of the first to do chiro in the area, I guess. I haven't seen him around lately, so I didn't think of him. Also, he is DVM, Kyla is not.

Thanks guys!! her horse is accident prone and on top of that they are having a horrible experience at the boarding barn they are currently using ( moving the end of the month). BO thinks it is okay to put agressive horses in with the others which results in constant injuries to others ( one actually had fractured ribs a few weeks ago), the hotwire has not worked since they've been there, she's pulled moldy hay out of her horses stall and there have been numerous occasions where the horses haven't had water. Needless to say she needs a good experience with SOMETHING! so I'm happy for your referrals.

After watching his video and seeing several vets work on my horses that are extremely good and very well respected I would keep looking for a chiropractor.

OP, your friend may find it worth her time to join a
yahoogroup called TCCTList. This is a collection of
all the English riding disciplines in the Twin Cities
area. Asking for advice on boarding, vets. farriers,
and whatever else she requires will meet with advice
from quite a few nice people.

I was told that Dr. Kyla was actually a human chiropractor, first??I also heard she spent time riding with Betsy Steiner, so she understands that "he just doesn't feel right" we all give as a 'symptom.'

Where in the metro area? Paul Weitz is south of town.

Jamie (I'm drawing a blank) is in the NW metro area.

    Both would be good.
Turn off the computer and go ride!

Yes, she is a human chiro. She actually worked on me once. I didn't have a horse at the time, so I couldn't have her do us both

Rumor has it that she wants to only do animals now.

Audrey DeClue DVM (does chiro and accupuncture, limited availability in the winter though): http://www.audreydvm.com/

JC Thieke DVM at Anoka Equine: http://www.anokaequine.com/services/...tary-medicine/

Jamie Pribyl DVM at Buffalo Equine: http://www.belac.net/chiropractic.php

I believe that in MN if you go with a DC (non-DVM chiro) you need a referral from a DVM in order for the DC to work on your horse, but the rules change all of the time so that may no longer be the case.

That was the case this time last year, at least.

I second Audrey Declue. She's been doing our horses for years.

Dr. DeClue is wonderful. She really focuses on a total management program and rehab rather than just coming out and adjusting once every couple of months.
