Default Performance Horse Hotspots in the US?

    Hey all,

I'm a third year veterinary student is NOT from the US - and therefore I need your help! I'm setting up external rotations for my fourth year and I only have a limited number of weeks available to travel.
So I'd like to visit some big equine practices that see a lot of performance horses (preferably English hunters, jumpers, eventers, dressage as opposed to racehorses or western performance).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Look in the Wellington, Florida, area ... lots of equine practices and lots of high-dollar sport horses.

    In New Jersey:
    Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center
    New Jersey Equine Clinc
    B.W. Furlong & Associates
Also not too far away in Pennsylvania is the famous New Bolton Center
New Jersey has some top hunter/jumper barns as well as eventing, dressage, driving, saddle seat, and Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing.
Central and Southern (and even Northwestern) New Jersey is not the grimy city-scape you may have seen on shows like The Sopranos. It's nickname is The Garden State for a reason.

    In Minnesota:
    University of Minnesota
    Stillwater Equine Veterinary Clinic
    Anoka Equine
In Minnesota you will find a large number of trail riders along with a smattering of every type of discipline. Hunter/jumper, dressage, eventing, reining, saddle seat, western pleasure, a little bit of everything.
Minnesota is an area of the country with 4 distinct seasons and we are famous for our lakes.

These are the two areas of the country I am most familiar with.

I'm sure there are more out west that I'm not completely sure about.

I'd second Wellington any time between now and April. Palm Beach Equine is a big place, and there are a bunch of others. If you want to head way west, there must be a few in Southern California.
