when my little brother was about 12 or so, we installed a hot wire along the top of the fence (ponies, always thinking the grass was greener....) any way, he was having a birthday party and got all of his friends to hold hands....about 7-9 of them then he walked over to the fence (towing all his friends) and grabbed the wire.
Shocked all of them ! He laughed so hard and said it was totally worth it.
And this was not a solar powered wire this was a plug in wire, so it packed a good punch.!
Decades ago, my mom and I were out looking for ponies and a friend of ours had a few for sale. They were away on holiday but were given permission to go over and walk though the fields and meet the ponies and see what one we would be interested in. As we approached the fence ( which was hot wire) my mom says, " now be careful going under the wire. You don't want to be zapped".
As she crouches down to slide under the wire she raised her self off the ground a bit, her back touched the wire and her legs and arms shot out of underneath herself so fast! She then went down chest/face first into the dirt!!
I laughed so hard I nearly piaffed in my pants!
This happened may be 25 years ago, I still laugh when I think about it.

"...I nearly piaffed in my pants!"
I am so borrowing this. I am sure it will draw a lot of WTF heading scratching what did she just say looks in my neck of the prairie.
Closest thing to a sauna around here would to be tarping over a few cows, hold a bucket of water & light a match.

I actually test my fence every day by touching it. Yes I know they make testers but I have yet to ever get one of them to work (I'm sure it's user error at this point) When I was pregnant I had to make my hubby do it, it was not as hysterical as this but it was fun watching him flinch, then think he was safe and then get the nice zap! Thank you Mike for the laugh, I've watched it a few times now and it's just as funny as the first!
The one good thing about repeating your mistakes is that you know when to cringe.

I used to test fences at work with a blade of grass.
Once I was bending down & hit the hot wire with my metal framed glasses. I swear I felt the roots of my teeth, the edge of eye orbits & every suture in my skull for a good 10 minutes. I bet I looked like a cartoon character getting electrocuted...zap & you see the skeleton glow

This has always been one of my favorites:

In another video the Brainiacs investigate the reaction between alkali metals and water.
What is it about Brits and electric fences?

As a child, DH once convinced one of his younger brothers to pee on the electric fence. Bad, bad boy!
