Default Bit suggestions for a move up from a Myler Comfort

I need suggestions for a bit that would be a good move up from a Myler Comfort snaffle loose ring with a Micklem bridle. Horse is OTTB going training, found out during the first half of our XC today that I had no breaks. I've only in countered this problem before when I was fox hunting him. I'm looking for a mouthpiece that is double jointed, has a roller, lozenge, etc. Horse is not a candidate for a Myler combo as I feel that would be too much.
    Thanks!

How about a Myler with hooks? Perhaps a bit of mild leverage would help.

My fave move up bit from a simple snaffle is the "wonder bit" or sometimes called the "Beval Bit."

Has anyone used a bit with hooks or loops on a Micklem bridle? I should also add the bit needs to be 4.75in which is surprisingly hard to find in specialty bits.

Myler with hooks, or myler ported barrel snaffle. California saddlery in Santa rosa ca had a bunch of 4.75 inch mylers on sale for $20 at the woodside horse trials. We have ponies and pony crosses and I bought several, but I think they have some left if you look them up, and they ship.
