Default A lion riding a giraffe? A monkey riding a zebra? (now with video)

One of our local pony clubs holds a dressage show and CT every year.

And every year, myself and another of my instructor friends put together the most outrageous pas de deux we can come up with and perform it with whatever matching soundtrack we can come up with.

This year was "Welcome to the Jungle"... I think it was my favorite year yet!!

    https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...51849112_n.jpg

    Music involved:
    Welcome to the Jungle
    Jungle Boogie
    Bare Neccessities
    Lion Sleeps Tonight
    Hakuna Matata
    George of the Jungle
    Trashin' the Camp (from Tarzan)
And a grand Circle of Life finale!

I'll post some video when I get it.

I'm very fortunate that one of my students has let me borrow her pony the last two years, as my uber tolerant TB has been retired... she's TONS of fun, though!

    That's awesome!

I did a costumed musical freestyle to "Dancing Queen" at one of our local dressage shows. I would love to post the video, but I don't want ABBA's lawyers coming after me. I dressed up as a Dressage Queen, tiara and all Picture

    LOVE IT!

I have this deluded fantasy of doing a pas de deux with a friend to music from Phantom of the Opera. One of us dressed as the phantom, and one of us as Christine. Maybe one day I can twist someone's arm into participating.

That, or a compilation of music by Queen. Can't you just imagine a big butted mare going around to "Fat Bottomed Girls"??

I want to make a freestyle for Toby to Queen, AC/DC, the Rolling Stones, that kinda stuff.

The song "Destination Unknown" is PERFECT walk music for him.

And (don't be jealous) "Bohemian Rhapsody" ROCKS for his canter work (that was what we were rocking out to recently when he did his first canter halfpass ).

Toby's a total rocker. He loves that stuff. Doesn't puff up as much when I play stuff like Wilco and definitely not to my cheesy 80s stuff. But when I put HIS music on, he's like "ROCK ON, BITCHES!!!" That's what we listen to on show mornings.

That was the original song I planned on. It didn't work with my mount's gaits and Dancing Queen was just so perfect for her. Next year I'm doing Lady Gaga's Poker Face

    Alright, here's the video!

I dubbed the track in and it's a tiny bit behind, but you can actually hear the music now. Fun times!

I'm riding the giraffe, by the way.

And the tiara photo is awesome too!!!
See... Fleck's very much a 80's guy... he loves Journey! Although he's very "banjo" too.... bluegrass.. I can totally see Toby being a rocker though
