I cannot imagine how agonizing that must have been. So very, very sorry for your loss and for having to endure what you did.

Weatherford, I am so sorry you had to go through this.
    A horseowner's worst nightmare.

Know that the thoughts of many COTHers are with you as they were with me when I lost my 2 boys.
And I hope knowing this helps you, as it did me.

    Godspeed, Leah

I'm so sorry that you and Leah had to part this way. You were there for her, and that had to have helped her. It is so tough when they thrash and arc, and you can only comfort by voice. Byrdie will understand and comfort you. He will want the hugs, too.

Godspeed Leah, and Weatherford, what a terrible, terrible thing to go through. You're in my thoughts and I hope the fact that Leah is free of her pain will help you get through yours. {{HUGS}}.

Thanks to all my COTH friends and acquaintances for the support and love you've shown me in the past few days. It means more than you can possibly imagine.

(For those who also know me on FB, this is a double post.)
Just so you know, I suspect this coming may be a tough year - the old mare (Marianne - Byrdie's Mum) is 19, not very sound and on her last foal, if she is still holding it. She tells me when she isn't feeling well, and so far, she is OK. But the gray horse melanoma is making breeding/scoping her very difficult, so I think this may be her last year.

The two geldings will be 16 (and are finally mellow...) and Purcey, the 18 hander also has chronic soundness problems (he is Marianne's full brother and the reason I bought her in the first place!)

Sofie, my dog, a rescue, is at least 12 and has a huge tumor in her neck. We tried to remove it in the Spring, but it was too close to the jugular vein to remove, so we cleaned it out. It is returning quickly (to my mind), but not threatening her esophogus/wind pipe as it had previously, but, it isn't getting any better :'(

So, I just have to do what I can - Let Go and Let God.

I really appreciate the support I've gotten from my all COTH friends - my thanks are heartfelt and deep. Take care!
