    If DH wants a Lab, get him one! (Lab enabler here, though not a fan of the OP first pup for your family)

    ETA - Little Guy is so cute though! But DHs need their own dogs. Every boy needs a dog, and every Lab needs a kid or a kid-at-heart

    I wouldn't want a puppy and a baby at the same time as puppies are much like having an infant. The dog in the OP looks much older than stated but still too young when you have a baby. Any of the ones in the above links looked like they would be suitable.
