Default Stubben Black Monday saddle sale November 19th

It will open at 9 am with a Facebook posting and then at 10am, Stubben will send out a blast email to everyone on its list.

The last one was in 2010, and quite a few people scored really great saddle deals.

Do you have to be on their list to participate? How does it work?

It's a sale with listed saddles and phone purchases. You don't have to sign up to buy, but you won't have the list unless you get the special webpage.

If you're one of their facebook people, you'll be able to see the saddle list early; otherwise, you can sign up for their (very rare) emails.
As 2012 comes close to an end, we at St├╝bben want to thank you for your continued support of our products. On Monday, November 19th we will have another Black Monday sale on our website, featuring well over 250 saddles with special 'BLACK' prices. Many of you remember our Black Monday sale in 2010 and have asked for us to do it again, so here it is! The prices will be great, and include just about every type of saddle we make, including many dressage saddles.

The Black Monday Sale is this Monday, November 19 (and could even spill over into Tuesday). We will post the link to our Black Monday saddles on our Facebook page at 9am. We will send out a blast email with the link @ 10am, so if you're not a fan on Facebook, use the link below to join so you'll get first crack at the list.

We hope you can take advantage of this opportunity and look forward to hearing from you on Monday.

Call or Email us for more information.

Thanks, viney. I am not a Facebooker, so I sent them an email. I hope that's sufficient. The other link just sent me to their website; it had no info on the sale.

hmmm...I liked just liked them on FB. Still seems unlikely I'll be able to do anything (or THAT saddle, that is the right tree size for Toby and has the right flaps for me, will be on the list!), but, you never know!

Does anyone know if there is a return policy for the saddles, or are they a more closeout 'all sales final' type approach?

I am very much in the market for a saddle, have been dreaming about Stubbens, and this sale would be a massive coup for my budget, but since I haven't bought a Stubben since I got a 35-year-old Siegfried out of some lady's attic when I was 10, I'm a little nervous about getting one, having it be a total disaster, and then being in a situation where my budget is sunk into a saddle I can't use.

Did anyone buy one in 2010? How does it work? Is there a number to call through the web link or do you order right online?

I suspect that - like their clearance saddles on the "Used" list - these will be final sale BUT if you have a rep out to fit saddles, they can pull from that list for you to try ...

A quick call will clarify & you can talk to a saddle specialist when you call in: no idea how this will work on Black Monday, but normally, you can essentially have a phone consult complete with back & forth photos ... (there are no Stubben reps in my area).

Generally the sale prices are such that you should be able to re-sell fairly easily (especially if you offer a trial) but that assumes a "common" seat/tree size.

As long as you're able to fit your horse, I suspect you'll like the saddle well enough UNLESS you're looking for a "couch-style" saddle; if Stubben had a tree straight enough for FP, I'd have no hesitation about grabbing one of these special deals
There were a number of folk (on the Eventing forum) that were very happy with their 2010 buys.

Well, rats, they didn't have the genesis dressage saddle in the right size. But some great deals on Excalibur S monoflap jump saddles. These are awesome!

What they don't say is that you have to buy the saddle THRU a DEALER. So you'd need to set up, make arrangements, to have a dealer on standby early a.m. and they need to have a fast dialing finger.

I should edit to add: we had a dealer trying to phone in a purchase for us during the 2010 sale (and the prices were also lower!) and she kept getting a busy signal. When she did get thru they said that the saddle sizes were sold out because of their fax orders - so some dealers know the game better.

Best deal is you have to know what you want before the sale starts and place an order with a dealer (already have all of your credit card/shipping info done) and then if that model/size does come up they need to have a fax or phone call with that information ready to go.

I thought the sale was NEXT week.

They have a couple of those Excaliburs in our size. I don't like the knee block, but I am such a minimalist. Are they forward enough? I need extra forward.

YB, the SG model is extra-forward. They had a few of these when the list was first posted

Never mind. The most awesome mom ever told me to wait until my grandfather's trust is dispersed, and we'll order EXACTLY what we want/need next month.

Well, I did it! They didn't have quite the model that I was lusting over going into the sale, but I figured that, as Alto brought up yesterday, at this price it would be pretty easy to resell and get my money back if it didn't work out.

I'm currently still riding in the same dressage saddle I got for Christmas when I was 12 (I am now 23 and probably 9" taller than I was then!), so I feel like the chances of it being an improvement over what I currently have are... high. I'm hoping to move up to 4th Level with my ex-eventer in the spring and am pretty over having a saddle too small to sit in correctly. Very excited!

    Excellent

    BUT what did you get!!!

Note that a few of the saddles listed in the sale which are not on the NA site can be seen on the EU version - eg, the UK sub-site

From the now defunct Stubben UK site:
    Colombo, Aramis Dressage

    Romanus, Scandica, Parzival Dressage

    All purpose assorted

    & more

I got a Parzival - I've seen a few in person and like them quite a bit, though 'mud brown' is, I will admit, not quite my dream color for a saddle (what copywriter thought that was a sexy color descriptor??). But in the grand scheme of things, color is pretty low on my priorities, so I am very very happy

Oh this is bad... this is very bad... I've been scouring the internet for a specific Stubben for a while and I do believe it's on this list.

I'm digging up this old thread again because MY SADDLE CAME!!

    http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7i96prRod6...00/photo-1.JPG

Thanks again for everyone's advice (and enabling, haha). I've ridden in it once so far and the gamble appears, so far, to have paid off. Even if it is a somewhat heinous color that will in no way match with my black and white horse and grey and white color scheme, the price and fit were right and I'm very, very happy
