I like Lipco Video but it's a shame there are no conformation shots. I like that he has Fappiano in his pedigree. I would like to see some pictures where you could really assess his conformation.

Hammering Buckeye is a very good looking horse but the fact that he has Storm Cat in his pedigree and there are shots of him looking a bit naughty would worry me because I'm an adult ammie who doesn't like hot horses. I know lots of people like Storm Cats so this is just one person's opinion. The ones I've met haven't been my type of ride so that's why I tend to stay away from them. If it was a horse who was already "let down" from the track and you could tell his temperment then I wouldn't be as worried.

Lovetofinishfirst is also very good looking. My only concerns would be that his neck looks a tad short and the underside a bit muscled. I also can't tell if his pasterns are a bit long. Sometimes they look longer than they are depending on how they are shod.
His pedigree is also good-What a Pleasure, Sir Ivor, Fappiano although they are farther back in the pedigree. He is a smaller horse so for resale that may be a consideration.

yeah....working with lack of sleep here! (work is crazy). Sorry I missed it. They are all nice....pros and cons. None are making me want to grab my check book though if I was looking for re-sale. Now if you are looking for yourself...I'd want to go their in person and see how you click....

Don't like Lovetofinishfirst. The extra pics posted definitely confirmed what I was leaning towards in his ad...funky front legs set too far under his body and a bit downhill, also a tad short in the neck and long in the pastern. He has a nice haunch on him, though!
I'd go see Hammering Buckeye in person to get a feel for his temperament...his pictures don't scream major conformation issues, so I'd go see how he is in person.

I wonder if Hammering Buckeye is being retired because he's a bad actor in the paddock? That doesn't always come with the horse once they're let down and retrained, but I would ask a lot of questions, as the start box might set off the same sort of behavior.

But it depends on what you are looking for...I don't study the pictures too closely. Just what catches my eye. Take a closer look at their conformation and how they move when you see them in person.

ETA: I used to own a Forty Niner grandson who is running Intermediate now with an ammy. Very good jumper--decent mover too. So I found it funny that my quick pick...picked out a Forty Niner granddaughter and he is also in the pedigree of the first horse. As a sire he got sent off to Japan fairly earlier...so it isn't like he is all that common around here!

I bought a couple of horses from Juan, so I wouldn't worry too much about the horse's temperament. He can make a saint nuts. He's a VERY nice guy, seems to love his horses, but is not really a horseperson, if you know what I mean. If you aren't 100% sure of checking soundness yourself, get a PPE. I still have one of the horses that I bought from him. He was supposed to be a resale horse--very fancy mover--but ended up being so safe and completely unflappable that I'm keeping him for my husband to ride and to be company for our young horses to ride out with. When I went to see him, Juan put a lip chain on him just to go in the stall with him, then would only jog him in the shed row for me to look at. Said he was too crazy to take outside. The others I got from him, were very similar, just not to the extreme that Pickles was. So don't forget the PPE, but don't worry too much about the temperament, IMO.

And I agree with JBRP about Cynthia. If it's Cynthia Rickman, she will NOT sell you the horse if you want it for a resale project. I stopped calling on any of her horses once I figured that out, since most of mine are purchased for resale eventually.

No in all seriousness, I think his hind leg looks really week, not the butt, that's good, the hock, pasterns, and feet. Plus he's downhill. Number one has a nice eye in the pic.
