Default Value of a good mare! Congrats Ashknoll

We often overlook those amateurs, with a homebred who quietly compete with excellent success. Our own COTHer Ashknoll deserves some kudos. Ashknoll just completed their first Preliminary event at the CDCTA Horse Trials, on her own homebred mare Whittington's Cat. Carolyn and Catty were thrilled just to complete the event over a huge XC course, but finishing 3rd was icing on the cake. What is exceptional is that this pair also competed the week before in Lexington at the VA Horse Trials at Training Level, and led their team in all three phases to a big win in the COTH sponsored event. Carolyn is especially proud of Catty, rightfully so. Catty’s full sibling, Valen's Prophecy, whom Carolyn also backed and started, has gone on to fame in the Junior Hunter ranks, recently ribboning at both Harrisburg and Washington.
Cheers for Carolyn, who is showing what a smalltime breeder can do with just one excellent mare, Paksenarrion. Paks is the dam of both Catty and Valen. Carolyn has a great future ahead with Catty and her other two half-brothers, Ianto (Torino) and Jayvyn (Gatsby).

Good to hear small breeder stories!

You don't say how Catty and Prophecy are bred, certainly two successful full sibs should tell who daddy is.

Thanks! This really has been a stellar year for me, and I'm so proud of what Paks' offspring have accomplished so far. She is an old style mare by Gottloewe. The sire of Valen and Catty is a true hidden gem named Eurosport, who is 3/4 TB and 1/4 Hanoverian. Would love to share some photos of the "kids".
