Bareback puissance video from the show at my place this past weekend.
I had the last show of our season here on Saturday & offered some fun classes to finish the year--one of the classes I offered was a bareback puissance. I figured the fence would get to 2'6" or 3', but no... Here is the video made by Abby's dad, the other rider is our own WeeDeeTrrr.
Enjoy!
Video courtesy of Stanford Gentry from the Bareback Puissance at our show this past Saturday.

Two of the participants while always young at heart are definetly firmly in adulthood, so this wasn't just a contest between young uns.
It was a much bigger class then I expected and a highlight of the last show of the season.

Thank you!
Enjoytheride is quite right, Rachel and I are a BIT older than the rest of the group. (I'm on one of the greys, in black breeches. Rachel is on the black draft cross. For reference.)

Very, very cute! Looked like lots of fun!
Just as an aside, and not meant as a criticism, but have you thought about taking down the jump cups when you aren't using them for a particular fence? I always worry if someone has a fall, they will get hurt if they land inadvertently on one of those. Just heard of someone who was quite hurt hitting a jump cup. Just a thought. They are easy to pop off and if it saves someone getting hurt, might be something to think about.
Loved the video!!!! I'm hoping we can do something like that with my students. Looked really fun!
Congrats!

Come shine, yes--I typically have them off, I ran the CT's and Derby's first & that was a triple bar for the Training level CT. I wasn't paying attention to the cups still being up until much later. I've not ever had any issues, ever, in 40+ years with someone hitting a jump cup, but it's high enough on my radar that I usually remove the top ones, anyway.

I think there needs to be a bareback puissance at the November show every year. It was tons of fun and we had a huge crowd watching. There might have been some discussion about who was going to "go down" on another public forum, Im not sure... KC and Abby stuck like glue and their grey ponies were awesome. It was a perfect way to wrap up the season
