    I never thought I was old till last year, I am 54. Now, Reading this, I feel young.
    Well some days. I agree about the knees thing, Got down on the floor in the kitchen to rumage in the cupboard for a pan and it was a groan session getting back up!

    When you can injure yourself just by sleeping in the bed. Waking up with a sore neck, shoulder, hip, back etc.
    A friend asks why you're limping and you reply that you just woke up that way.

    Or when farm equipment you've used for years starts fighting with you, like it can sense your weaknesses and wants to take advantage.

    On the other hand, you can cuss like a champ when the moment calls for cussing.

    Default The Joys of Low Standards!

    Aging also has advantages, however:

    No one expects you to look sexy every second;
    Or be on the fast track to a stratospheric career;
    Or be able to party all night;
    Or "Have It All;"
    Or have six-pack abs, nonexistent hips and a gym-toned butt;
    Or ride 6 horses a day without getting tired;
    Or have perfect children, Prince Charming and a white picket fence.

    Sooo . . . if you can pull off ANY of these things, you're a winner!

    (The rest of us don't care, and just enjoy sleeping in . . . )

    When you go for a ride, and just walk for an HOUR, day after day and have to admit that you enjoyed it! That was all you wanted to do!

    When your IPhone camera reverses and your first reaction is, "Who the H... is THAT crone???" Rude shock...it must be the angle of the shot!!!

    When you hit the little green thumb to appreciate a post, and it says you've already appreciated it, and you don't remember.

    Nothing says middle age like bifocals.

    I do have to say, I am enjoying the liberation which comes from knowing I no longer have a snowball's chance in hell of being mistaken for part of the hip crowd. Not much point in trying to protect the reputation I don't have.

    I also find myself wishing Back on Track would come out with a full length bodysuit. (in black, of course, so I would look more svelte!)

    When you listen to the Oldies station for "your" music.

    When many of the hot new stars look like children to you.

    When teenagers ask you about the '70s for a school report and you realize you have become an historical reference.

    When you are known on sight by the pharmacist because you have BP medicine, GERD medicine, osteroporosis medicine...
