Default Obscure OT Day Random Questions Thread

Sometimes you just want to ask a bunch of friends if anyone knows the answer to some obscure trivia or has any idea what avenue to pursue to get it.

To start off, around 1970 +/- 2 yr there was a film in which theres a scene in which a young couple split up. The guy leaves their cityapartment and the woman goes to soak in the tub . When she is sitting there in the hot water puzzling over the last hour or two, she lights up a joint and gets stoned. Can anyone recall what film that was? It was a popular film that year.

Can you remember anything else about the movie or any actors? What type of movie was it?

Barbra Streisand lights up a joint in the tub in "The Owl and the Pussycat," but George Segal is in the tub with her. The time frame is right (1970).

Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford were in The Way We Were. I think they break up, though I didn't see the movie. Also there was that stupid movie Love Story, which was a huge hit. Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal may have broken up briefly in that movie too.

I have a question. When did they start naming winter snowstorms? The Weather Channel says "Brutus" is threatening us here in Wyoming. WTF? We're gonna have snow in Wyoming in the winter (sooooo unusual ) and it's going to have a name???

Naming winter storms? jeez, they will run through the alphabet in a couple of weeks. Wonder what they named the one that hit Edmonton and area?

This is the first season the weather bureau has started naming major storms. I guess they got sick of "Snowmageddon" and such.

It looks like Brutus is going to hit me too, we are under snowfall warning from a US based system; the weather warnings were just issued at 9AM. I am SO not ready for this crap.

Thanks! I did not know that. Stupid idea, though. Much prefer the creative names like Snowmageddon.

    LOL! Soooo funny!

Nobody ever pays attention to our snow. A flake falls in NYC and the news people have fits. We get a couple feet and nobody says a thing. Usually the weather people stand in front of (block) Wyoming on the map while they turn and talk about NYC's flake. So to have a named storm come through is very weird. LOL! It's so...Chicken Little.
