Cross Post: Ont/Que/East Coast USA - What Sale Sites?
Just wondering if people in/around the above areas can chime in on what horse classifieds sites they peruse, specifically sites they would use for looking at horses out of province/country for US.
Farm in question is in Nova Scotia (beside Maine) and has quality hunter/jumper/breeding stock. Prices are generally in the range of 6k (some yearlings) to 25k (young horses backed or ready to go). Sometimes the odd broodmare (ie we have a broodmare now for less than 5k, and another broodmare/possible riding horse in foal for around 7k).
I'm helping out to place some ads and would like to know my top avenues so as not to waste time and money on sites that won't get the attention needed.
I suspect it's a lot more common for people in Canada to look at horses in the States rather than the opposite, but input is appreciated.
I use Quebec Equestrian Federation ads (Like Monaco said) but it is mainly french target.
I also use equimarket (equestrian connection), Horseworld forums, ewarmbloods, then all the US ads like warmbloods for sale, horseclicks, equine.com, dreamhorse, etc. Sometime I pay for premium ads, sometime I only use the free ones. Depends.
And a good, clear and updated website with the best pictures you can get.
Oh and don't underestimate Facebook communities (make a good page for your farm, and become members of different groups related to breed, disciplines and horse sales, etc.)
As I am in Gatineau close to ottawa and am in the market for a husband horse I check Equistation it is Ontario add site and have pretty much every kind of horse. Also if these are dressage prospect Ottawa Dressage Group but I do not know if you have to be a member.
