I think it's kind of cool - thumbs up or thumbs down - either your post is liked or it isn't. What's the problem?? LOL

I agree the good/bad terminology is really stupid. Especially when the post is about something sad or negative. So let's say someone is very touched by another poster's story of loss or whatever, and click on thumbs up. So yay, I guess that post is good? Is the actual event good?

I see the occasional bad rating is no more sinister than someone posting "I disagree"--actually it's a much more mild form of expressing that, because obviously they don't feel strongly enough to post a rebuttal. (Or they're not confident enough in their position to actually say something, in which case what does their opinion matter?). So I don't dwell on them or read more into it.

I suppose if someone's Notifications box is consistently filled with Bad ratings on lots of different posts, it's not a bad idea for that person to ask what are they really adding to, and getting from, the forum?

I still say there should be a third button - one that signifies the post made you laugh and spew liquid out your nose and all over the keyboard or spit food on the keyboard.

Thanks, supershorty 628, but I STILL want a button for funny posts

I just don't see the kerfuffle over bad ratings. I am willing to bet the 'detractors' are just disagreeing with a post, nothing more, nothing evil or sinister. The labelling SHOULD have been Agree and Disagree to clarify things, however.

I also wish that damned auto save would go away.

How does the auto save work, exactly?

Not sure how it works but that splash of yellow is annoying as hell.

Got you beat all to heck. Got back from cleaning and I had 14 notifications. Most were bad but it only let me check one. Can't access the others now.

Ok, which one of youse guys gave me another "bad" I rode a horse, cleaned the barn and came back to 2 more reviews and one was a "bad" And for people who don't like this new rating system, we sure are giving it a lot of press

And OP 14????? I have to work harder to keep up with you

Yeah, what is that about? I came back and had a huge list of notifications, but could only check one. But if I get a new notification, the entire list will show up - but can only click on one.

I just hope--I'm probably kidding myself-- that the thumbs up/thumbs down options will result in more people actually reading the previous posts. I know that's asking a lot...

This time I got back from the barn there was only 3...:-(((

I'm actually starting to feel flattered. Usually nobody pays me any attention! This is kind of cool! Somebody (or somebodies) are actually going to the trouble to try to annoy me. I'm POPULAR!!!

I suspect the reason some people are getting thumbs up/down on old posts is the "similar threads" section at the bottom of each thread. It's pulling up some things that are quite old.

If you are not interested in seeing that feedback, don't click on the helpful post rating section under notifications. PMs are listed separately. No need to view one in order to view the other. Or access your PMs by clicking on "settings" then inbox.

The auto-save feature works by asking you if you want to leave the page if you click off after it's been autosaved and also by reloading what you've written in the box but not posted if something crashes (near as I can tell.)

I think the thumbs up and down is a good idea, but with my growing amount of 'bad' vibes I think that the anonymous thing really doesn't work, either put names to it or bin it. I don't mind getting negative feed back but really, why the hell are you marking down the fact that I type with two fingers, sometimes 3, seems not to be worth the effort to click. Leave it for something more worthwhile.

Okay, apparently I am not able to see what the rest of y'all can. When I click on Notifications, it takes me to the Settings page and shows my subscribed threads and that's it. I've got 25 notifications and I can't see them. The suspense is killing me!
