Hi all...starting the daunting task of job hunting/sending out resumes, and would love your help brain storming. I have a unique array of technical and writing skills, so finding a job isn't the hard part...but I would love for it to be equine related.
So far I've sent apps to:
W.F. Young (Absorbine)
I'd like to stay in New England...any other suggestions?
UMASS. Maybe not directly with horses, but great bennies, and they have an equine program.
Thanks, I'm employed there now, actually.
Like I said, finding a job in my field (IT) is NOT hard. But I am really hunting hard for one that has to do directly with horses/horse care items. Really, I'm just hoping that SmartPak calls me up with a "When can you start?!?!" but I figure a girl's gotta keep her options open if she wants to put grain in the buckets and whatnot!
Personally, I would get a job that paid well and had a career path, not worry about whether it was horse related. You can support lots more horse stuff with a bigger paycheck. There's lots of interesting work out there, much of which has a broader focus than horses, so I wouldn't get too hung up on the horse related aspect of a job search.
I have never worked in a horse related job, but I have managed to earn enough money to buy a farm and support 18 horses on it.
